sabotage

sab·o·tage
n.

1. Treacherous action to defeat or hinder a cause or an endeavor; deliberate subversion.
2. Destruction of property or obstruction of normal operations, as by civilians or enemy agents in time of war.

Why is it that a person will often sabotage themselves. Life is good. Things are going along smoothly and then, BAM! ~ they go and do something they know will mess stuff up. Silly, really, but oh so common…
