celebrate

It was a weekend of celebration, and cleaning also, but mostly celebration…
There were many meals, a few new light switches, a cupcake, some dancing to greek techno, red velvet cake, 2 candles and a lot of love.

(there were a few that warranted being hidden from public view, so some may not be viewable unless you sign up for flickr - and you should, it’s free!)

the shoes i can’t find

I was in Coffee Bean on Saturday morning and I saw this woman wearing some shoes I fell madly in love with. After staring at them for a long time I told her I loved her shoes and asked her what brand they were (not that I know anything about brands, but in LA, it’s a good guess to assume they’re something “well known”). She replied “Campbell?” And I asked where she got them and I swear I recall her saying “LM” or “L&M” or some other place with two letters. “BM?” Oh, wait…
She then said “But you should go online because their shoes are a little pricey and I bet you can get a better price online”.
I have been searching and searching the world wide web and I cannot find these shoes anywhere. I’ve typed in every descriptor I can think of for the mental image of these amazing shoes: campbell, heels, patent leather, straps, ankle, black.
And there is no store in LA called L&M or LM. And no, it’s not H&M.
And nothing. I am so disappointed!
What’s a poor shoe loving girl to do now?
Oh, I know - save my money…
blasted!

I just spent some time writing a poem. This is not commonplace for me because I don’t even like poetry very much, but I wanted to write about something without really writing about it…
And then, when I went to save my poem, the computer got slow and it disappeared. I did try to recreate what I had already written, but the burst of creativity was lost to frustration. I am taking this in as a lesson. So, no cryptic poems here right now…
Perhaps inspiration will come again soon.
Oh, and by the way, my yoga practice has now become nonexistent. I am disappointed with my lack of discipline.
bachelorette shenanigans

Over the weekend I went to my friend Rhiannon’s bachelorette celebration in preparation for her August wedding! Many of my college girlfriends met in fabulous Seattle and we spent the weekend catching up, celebrating Rhiannon and her fiance, Jeff and realizing we aren’t 21 anymore…
The first night we boogied on down to the 80s dance party and wore ourselves out. The next day we went wine tasting and then out on the town again. I, however, didn’t make it too long and had to poop out before the 2nd night was officially over. I kept hoping for a second wind, but after dinner my eyes were fighting my attempts at keeping them open.
Feeling old aside, the weekend was awesome! I loved seeing the girls and hearing all about our ever-evolving adult lives. For more pictures, click right here…
Thank you Kirsten, Emily & Kim for planning such a fun weekend and thanks to all of you for being such amazing women, all of whom I am proud to know!
