*2. Didn’t Cha Know by Erykah Badu on Mama’s Gun

*8. Why Not Smile by R.E.M. on Up
*9. When You Say Nothing At All by Alison Krauss on Now That I’ve Found You
*10. Deserve It by Madonna on Music
Thoughts on this mix: Hmmm. Well, I like all of these songs. And a couple of them had me singing along. But it’s a weird mix of genres ~ there was no flow.
Today’s Favorite Song: When You Say Nothing At All
I heart this song so much. I still remember where I was the first time I heard it eleven years ago. It was a on my roommate’s mix tape and I rewound it 3 times to hear it over and over. I think it’s the sweetest love song ever. (And it was my friend Erica’s first dance at her wedding).
Today’s Least Favorite Song: Battle Without Honor or Humanity
Awesome song for S Factor. Not an awesome song right into your ears.
Lyrics I love:
It’s amazing how you can speak right to my heart
Without saying a word you can light up the dark
Try as I may I could never explain
What I hear when you don’t say a thing
{When You Say Nothing At All}

pretty feet
Filed Under goings on | 1 Comment
So, I figure it might be a little weird to write about my feet, but that’s what I’ve been thinking about a lot lately.
In class I spend a lot of time barefoot, so the soles of my feet have become…how shall I say…rough. I get regular pedicures, but it seemed to only help for about 24 hours max. So, I did some research and found a cheap, easy solution.
Socks!
First, I douse my tired little feet in a thick foot cream and rub it in very well. Then, I add some more and put on socks. All this before I go to bed so that my feet can moisterize all night while I sleep.
So far, it’s been 3 nights and my feet are so much prettier now. Touchable, even. I highly recommend!
And that’s all the news from aliland today.

Thoughts on this mix: A good healthy mix of music styles. A good way to start the day…a little rock, a little disco, a little house, a little folk and a little pop. What more can you ask for?
Today’s Favorite Songs: Feel Like Makin’ Love and Do It Now
If you haven’t heard Kid Rock’s version of this song, you must, but it’s not on iTunes, sorry. And this is my favorite, favorite song by Dubtribe.
Today’s Least Favorite Song: If It Makes You Happy
I think I feel like I’m supposed to like Sheryl Crow’s music, but I’m not sure I really do.
Lyrics I love:
If I had a day that I could give you
I’d give to you a day just like today
If I had a song that I could sing for you
I’d sing a song to make you feel this way
Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high
{Sunshine On My Shoulders}

i wanna tell you, but I really can’t

So, I’ve been teaching a very VIP some S classes…
And I mean, I’ve taught a couple of other quite famous celebrities once or twice, but this is seriously a person I have admired for quite awhile. It still amazes me when I walk in and there she sits waiting for me. For me! Ha ha.
Then today, I introduced her to Sheila who offered to teach her if she wanted, but when Sheila left the room, my student turned to me and said, “No, I’m having my private tomorrow with you, right?” Damn! And I assured her yes, I would be teaching her tomorrow. (we’ve been meeting everyday…)
And I know it’s torturous to put this out there and then not tell you who the heck I’m talking about (especially for Liz), but then I’d lose my job and I wouldn’t get to teach anybody anymore. And you wouldn’t want that, would you?
But this way, you can wonder and wonder. And you might be right. And you might be wrong. But it’s fun to guess, huh?
