Tonight I saw a play that affected me in the deepest way.

Alright, it’s time to come clean.
The character I understudied in Cubicles, Shana, was how shall I say? Bold in her sexuality. She meets an older guy, Hugh, at her new job and after some playful flirting and a shared traumatic experience, she proceeds to sleep with him.
In the play, this was suggested in the following way… Read more
Reawakening

Last weekend I stepped back on stage for the first time since January 2004. I am understudying in a wonderful play called Cubicles at Alliance Repertory Company and I had 3 performances last weekend.
I was nervous and calm and excited and anxious all at the same time ~ it was a feeling like when you’re about to see someone special after a very long absence. The character I was playing was very unlike any other I’ve played, a character that perhaps I wouldn’t have been as suited for 2 years ago. I think it has been very good for me to have some time away from the one thing that has always consumed my life, but after all was said and done, I felt so good!
For me, there is nothing like being on stage ~ the feeling of stepping into the darkness, waiting for the lights to rise and illuminate me, the audience energy when they are completely with you in the story of the play, the rush of each moment between two actors, and the silent moment at the play’s finish just before the audience erupts into applause.
I am so grateful to my family and friends who came to see me! Thank you Mom, Dad, Robert, Sheila, Amanda, Mike, Saba, Neil, Cami, Sean, Sujata, Alesha, Paul, Amy & Kristina for sharing this reawakening with me…
(And then last night, I got a job offer to join the cast of Noises Off down here in Redondo Beach)
New Car 2006 ~ The Winner!

And my new car is…
A VW, Jetta! I love my car…and I’m so happy.
My brother was here over the weekend and he helped me go to the dealer and work out my purchase. It was rather painless, even though it took about 3 hours. My Jetta is Blue Graphite on the outside, which is a very dark, almost black, blue color (this picture does not do it justice). It’s interior is Anthracite Leatherette (almost leather, ha ha), which is a very dark grey color. I’ll post a picture of me with my actual car soon.
I can’t tell you how much less of a pain the 6pm traffic on the 405 North was yesterday in my new car compared to my old one…
I never thought I’d be vain about my car, but in Los Angeles, you have to love what you drive.
(And now I do!)
